Leech Lake Fishing Report for Sept 5, 2019

Leech Lake Fishing Report for Sept 5, 2019

September 5, 2019

The evening/after dark bite for walleyes continues to go off Sand Point in 10 to 14 feet with crankbaits or a slip bobbers and leeches. During the day, crankbaits or spinner rigs are being used on main lake structure and breaks to cover water and pick off walleyes in 9 to 15 feet. Some anglers have started catching walleyes with a jig and minnow in less than 10 feet on the points and shoreline breaks. Muskie anglers are seeing and hooking more fish on the rocks rather than weeds, and largemouth bass action remains strong in the reeds or rice beds in most bays. Larger perch haven’t shown up in big numbers on their traditional fall spots.
