Leech Lake Fishing Report For October 9, 2020

October 9, 2020

A jig and minnow is producing walleyes on the points and shorelines in 6 to 9 feet with some wind or 10 to 15 feet if it’s calm. Diamond Point, Battle Point, Mounds Point, Duck Point, and the Hardwoods have all produced walleyes this week. Trolling crankbaits at night in less than 12 feet has provided steady walleye action as well. Perch anglers continue to sort through small fish, but are finding keepers in the narrows and Sand Point area. Look for better muskie action on the rocks adjacent to deep water. Grouse hunting reports have been good, and waterfowl hunters are seeing fewer teal and wood ducks, but more ringbills.
