Some bays off the main lake develop a thin layer of ice, but the wind is continually pushing it or breaking it up. The main lake is ice-free, and muskie anglers were still putting boats in Walker Bay early this week. The small lakes in this area have 4 to 7 inches of ice and anglers have been getting out on some of them.
