Leech Lake Fishing and Hunting Report for November 7th, 2024

Report from the Dock
At this point, most boats have been put in storage, which means fishing reports have been pretty light across the majority of the state. It’s worth noting that docks have been removed at accesses around most of the state as well, so keep that in mind if you still have your boat out. The few anglers who still are venturing out are mainly chasing walleyes or muskies, and they are catching fish. Large sucker minnows continue to be the ticket for muskies, while a jig and minnow or crankbaits are turning the majority of walleyes.
Hunting activity has picked up, and with the firearms deer season kicking off this weekend, many reports indicated that deer have become more active. Waterfowl hunting has also been solid for those still sticking with that activity. There’s been a slight push of northern birds funneling into the state since last week, including more divers. Pheasant reports indicate pockets of higher bird numbers in some areas.
Leech Lake Report
Angling pressure has been light, but a jig and minnow remains the best option for walleyes on the points, flats, and shoreline breaks in 6 to 12 feet. You’ll still find perch in less than 8 feet on the north end of Walker Bay and just outside the narrows. Duck numbers don’t seem to be building a lot, but there are more divers on bigger water bodies.
