Leech Lake Fishing and Hunting Report for November 19, 2025

Report from the Dock
It’s safe to say that outdoors minded folks are officially in that between seasons mode in Minnesota. With the firearms deer season winding down, the last of the ducks filtering through the state, boats put away, and very little ice taking hold, there just isn’t much to do. For the most part, there isn’t any more ice this week than last, and in many locations, there’s actually less of it. Ice forms on the ponds and small bays overnight, but tends to melt away during the day. Early this week, you could get a boat in on any lake in the state if you wanted to, although the open water fishing season is in the rear-view mirror for just about everyone. Sure, there are some diehards sticking at it, getting out when the weather allows, and they are catching walleyes and muskies. But for most, ice can’t come soon enough. Pheasant hunting reports remain excellent in most areas, but the Minnesota did not seem to encounter the push of ducks most hunters were hoping for.
Leech Lake Fishing Report
There haven’t been enough people on the lake to garner any fishing reports on Leech Lake – maybe a few muskie and walleye anglers – but not enough to provide much information. There’s ice on the ponds and in some bays, but it’s limited. It seems to come and go with the changing weather. There are some ducks being shot, including more divers, mainly on bigger water, but there aren’t many hunters going out.
