Harvest Moon Festival

September 25, 2013

Fall has officially arrived in the Leech Lake area! There’s no better way to celebrate the changing of the leaves and the new fall season than at Harvest Moon Festival.

Harvest Moon Festival is the newest event at Moondance and will be held on October 5. The festival will be a day filled with activities for the whole family, including beer, wine and food tasting and live entertainment.

The festivities will begin at 9:30 am with a 5k Run/Walk. Soon after at 10:00 am, the gates for Harvest Moon Festival will open and the entertainment and food will begin. The festival will include many children’s activities, including trolley rides, carnival games, BINGO, a magic show and wiener dog races.

Harvest Moon Festival is not just for kids! There will also be many activities for adults, including beer, wine and food tastings, a home brew contest, an adult spelling bee and live music. There will also be a Pinterest Make and Take, where participants can pay a fee to create unique home décor items.

The festivities will continue late into the night with live acoustic music starting at 6:00 pm by Timmy Haus. Courtney Guns will perform country music starting at 9:00 pm, and Millennia will end the night with contemporary hits from the 1970’s to today.

Tickets for the festival will be available online and at local Walker businesses. For those wanting to stay the whole weekend, campsites will be available both Friday and Saturday nights. For more information about Harvest Moon Festival, visit http://www.moondanceevents.net/Harvest_Moon.php.
