Leech Lake Fishing and Hunting Report for October 29, 2025
October 30, 2025
Report from the Dock
At this point, many boats have been put in storage, which means fishing reports have been pretty light throughout the majority of the state. The few anglers still venturing out are doing well, with most chasing walleyes or muskies. Large sucker minnows continue to be the ticket for muskies, while a jig and minnow or crankbaits are turning the majority of walleyes. In most cases, walleyes are shallow, relating to shorelines, points, or shallow structure. Some anglers continue to find big muskies suspended over deep water with front-facing sonars, but most are sliding shallower, especially on lakes with tullibees as they begin to think about spawning. Many reports indicated that deer have become more active. There’s been a slight push of northern ducks trickling into parts of the state over the past weekend, but still not big numbers. Woodcock are on the move, and most pheasant hunting reports remain favorable.
Leech Lake Fishing Report
Angling pressure has been light, but a jig and minnow remains the best option for walleyes on the points, flats, and shoreline breaks in 6 to 12 feet. You’ll still find perch in less than 8 feet on the north end of Walker Bay, just outside the narrows, and along any remaining green weeds. Duck numbers don’t seem to be building a lot, but there have been some better grouse-hunting reports from the immediate area.
