Shores at Pine Point on Leech Lake is a family oriented resort that features quiet, peace, and tranquility with the sound of loons right outside your window. Shores at Pine Point is a bit different from many resorts in the surrounding area. Shores focuses on the natural elements of the lake and the surrounding forests, and doesn’t incorporate distractions from this. This encourages children to get out on the docks and fish, or families to get out in their boats and fish. They often hold barbeques for people to come together with their fish, as well as a community kitchen where people can cook together. They are a dog friendly resort which is great for any people that want to bring their dog along! Shores at Pine Point offers boat and motor rental, dock space, and fish cleaning facilities to all guests. There are also fire pits throughout the property which the resort encourages guests to utilize.
Shores at Pine Point on Leech Lake accommodates permanent mobile homes, RV’s and campers. The resort also rents cabins on a seasonal basis, monthly basis, or weekly basis to guests. The cabins sleep between 4-8 people. One cabin sleeps up to 18 people and if often used for church groups and family reunions. They also have 2 brand new cabins that are available to be rented year-round! Many of the residents at the resort have been coming back to the resort for many years. These guests help to make newcomers feel welcome.

Norman Teegardin, owner of the resort, summers in Minnesota to take a break from his game ranch in Texas. He has been the owner of the resort for about 3 years and enjoys all the people and the fishing at the resort and on the lake. He says the best part of having a resort on Leech Lake is having the ability to catch fish! He comments, “the fishing has been great!” Fishermen are attracted to Leech Lake for the great fishing opportunities including walleye, yellow perch, northern pike, muskellunge, largemouth bass, sunfish, and black crappie. Norman says that passerby’s from the lake know the resort as the red barn with the white trim. “It is a landmark” he says. Definitely a landmark that I will have to add to my list of destinations!
