Small Business Saturday 2014
November 26, 2014
Black Friday is one of the largest shopping days in America, with over $12.3 billion spent last year in brick-n-mortar shops and an additional $1.964 billion online (according to Business Insider). In 2010, American Express created a new campaign, Small Business Saturday. With so much spend happening the weekend after Thanksgiving, much of which to big box stores, the credit card company decided to push business into local communities and small businesses. Because of the goodwill and success of the campaign, it has turned into an annual tradition, a chance for local brick-n-mortar companies to capitalize on the eager consumer.
