Leech Lake Fishing Report for Sept 8, 2017
September 8, 2017
A spinner and crawler, crankbaits, or Jigging Raps are producing walleyes during the day in 12 to 16 feet, as are crankbaits at night in 6 to 12 feet. Better areas this week include Sucker Bay, Cedar Point, Sand Point, and Templar Point. A jig and minnow is producing a few walleyes off Stoney Point. Muskies are hitting bucktails on the main lake rocks or topwater baits on the shallow weeds in Portage Bay, Kabekona Bay, and Sucker Bay. The rock piles are holding smallmouth bass, and the rice beds in most bays are giving up largemouth bass.
