Leech Lake Fishing Report for July 7, 2016
July 7, 2016
Hit the rock areas such as Submarine Island and the Annex with crankbaits or spinners and crawlers for walleyes in 12 to 16 feet. The 12- to 14-foot breaks and weed areas off Sand Point and Cedar Point in Walker Bay started producing a few walleyes, as are the deep humps in Walker Bay. If the wind blows, the points and shallower weeds will produce walleyes, and the crankbait bite at night is picking up in 9 to 14 feet. Hit the cabbage in any bay for largemouth bass or the main-lake rocks for smallmouth. The weeds in Portage and Sucker bays have produced a few muskies.
