Whether you’re planning a weekend fishing trip or heading to the lake after work, this Leech Lake Fishing Report has the latest fishing conditions for Walker, Minnesota. Here’s what you need to know before your next trip to Leech Lake.

Report from the Dock – Minnesota Fishing Conditions

Walleye anglers continue to grind out bites, but finding consistency with a walleye bite anywhere remains difficult. Many reports indicated that they bite one day and they’re gone the next, or they’re still sitting there but won’t bite – there seems to be no problem locating walleyes with electronics. Covering water during low-light periods with crankbaits or spinner rigs remains most productive.

Bluegill and bass action has been much more consistent and there seems to be a lot more people fishing for them. There was some better crappie reports this week, as well; mainly weedline fish that are most active late in the day.

Bluegills and bass also remain weed-related, but there seems to be better numbers of bigger fish set up along deep weeds, 15 feet or more, on many lakes. Muskie reports have been light, but most avid muskie anglers seem to have kept their gear in the boat through this warm water situation.

Leech Lake Fishing Report – Walker, MN

A jig and crawler or crankbaits are producing walleyes on the main-lake flats in 12 to 14 feet – the Snake Pits area, Greg’s Break, and the Annex to Bear Island are a few spots worth noting. Muskies seem to be most active on the rocks and hitting small bucktails around Submarine Island and Big Rock. Smallmouth bass also remain active on the mid-depth rocks, while largemouths and panfish are hitting in the 6- to 9-foot cabbage in most bays.
