Leech Lake Fishing Report for Aug 4, 2016
August 4, 2016
Walleyes are being caught on live-bait rigs and crawlers along the 14- to 18-foot breaks in Walker Bay. During the evening hours, a slip bobber and leech combination is turning walleyes off Sand Point in 10 to 12 feet. Other midday walleye options include Pine Point and West Goose Flats in 12 feet if the wind is hitting them. Pitch the docks and reeds in any bay for largemouth bass, while Boy Bay is giving up sunfish in 6 to 8 feet. Muskie action has been up and down, but topwater baits remain the best option on the rocks.
